ILLYRIAN HELMET


This exceptional Bronze Illyrian helmet is in superb condition, with no noticeable repair or restoration, and is one of the finest such helmets around, period. This helmet is approximately 12 inches high and has a natural light/dark green patina. There is a central crest ridge at the top that supported a raised crest. There are also minute rivets that are seen running around the outer edges, and these were attached to an inner leather liner that padded the head for battle. The helmet was forged from one solid sheet of bronze. This helmet dates circa 7th- 6th century BC.
