Market Community
A self-sufficient community containing an organized group of living and working spaces that are dependent on urban farming resources and a viable community market. The farm will be operated by the inhabitants of the commune and will provide valuable food resources to the community. Also, the market place will generate additional income and provide an opportunity to supply nutritional benefits to the surrounding communities. This model community will aim to redefine urban living through the implementation of an agriculturally based self sufficient strategy.
Urban Strategies
Repopulation of abandoned sites by rethinking eco-effectively the way we design architecture and life in cities. This model is a catalyst for urban change and urban rejuvenation through self sustainable strategies. It accommodates the local conditions, in the city of Detroit-a city deteriorated by the industrial revolution and pollution. However, the model can be implemented in any region of the world. Particularly in abandoned urban sites and conditions of urban sprawl. The livable spaces are cantilevered, anchored and supported and supplied by the urban farming greenhouse. This new architecture juxtaposes and confronts the conditions of the surrounding urban fabric through materiality, and redefining of the urban edge.
System Technologies
The notion of self sufficiency was addressed through a combination of low-tech and hi-tech solutions. The core system implemented is the decidedly low-tech notion of farming. However, the conventional conception of farming has been re-defined in an urban context. The growing areas in the building will be housed in a multi level greenhouse structure. The skin of the structure will act as an agent for collection of storm water through the configuration of its angled faēade. The storm water will subsequently be treated and up-cycled for plant irrigation and use by the inhabitants. The farming areas will be utilized as a major food source for the commune. Also, the implementation of a farmers market will provide supplemental income to the commune and provide nutritional benefits to the surrounding communities. Furthermore, crop waste will be converted into electrical energy through the utilization of a biomass gasifier. Other advantages of the greenhouse are improved indoor air quality for the commune.
The dwelling units in the building will utilize a combination of solar and geothermal sources for their energy and heating. Translucent Photovoltaic cells will be mounted on the outside facades and the roof of the structure. Furthermore, photovoltaic sunshades will be implemented to regulate daylight infiltration into living units. Geothermal heating and cooling will also be provided to the units through a complex distribution system. Additionally, the units will utilize an organic living machine system that will process and treat all waste water to be up-cycled for irrigation and inhabitant use. Through the implementation of these technologies the concept of an agriculturally based urban lifestyle will be attained through self sufficient ideals.

Keto panele mund te terhiqen anash fare, nese banori e do kete gje, ose mund te hapen e mbyllen, ose te formojne matrikse te ndryshme duke manipuluar perkujet/dallget e nje materiali qe perben panelin. per kete projekt, gjithashtu bera nje model full scale te paneleve te dritareve, me materjale qe zakonisht perdoren per gjera te ndryshme si drita, ose dyer dollapesh ketu ne amerike. keto materjale ishin styrene lighting panel, egg crate lighting panel, bi-fold door hardware, 1/2" aluminum channel and 1/2" aluminum clips, and 3/4 aluminum angle.
gjithashtu dhe muret e brendeshme (pervec murreve qe perbejne apartamentin dhe e ndajne ate nga te tjeret, murreve te banjos dhe aneksit) murret e tjere ndryshojne ne gjatesi dhe vendin e tyre se ku i do banori qe jeton ne ate apartament.
