The lawyer for Vice President Dick Cheney's former top aide is outlining a possible criminal defense that is a time-honored tradition in Washington scandals: A busy official immersed in important duties cannot reasonably be expected to remember details of long-ago conversations.

Friday's indictment of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby involves allegations that as Cheney's chief of staff he lied to FBI agents and a federal grand jury.

Libby, who resigned immediately, was operating amid "the hectic rush of issues and events at a busy time for our government," according to a statement released by his attorney, Joseph Tate.

ATHINE - Arsenali i armeve qe iu gjet nje punonjesi sigurie te
ambasades amerikane ne kryeqytetin grek Athine, u vertetua te kishte
edhe sasi lendesh eksplozive te rrezikshme. Per ngjarjen, po kerkohet
nje i ri shqiptar, ndersa dyshimet per qellimet e poseduesve te
armeve, ishin kriminale. Burimet policore te cituara dje
nga "Naftemboriki", thane se arsenali u gjet ne banesen e te
arrestuarit, punonjes i sherbimit "Security" te ambasades amerikane,
ne nje apartament te nje pallati ne zonen "Koridalo" prane burgut te
njohur te periferise se kryeqytetit. "Kontrolli zbuloi gjashte
automatike, dy snajpere, nje pistolete, 17 mbushes eksplozivi, doreza
lekure, manekine, pese thika, qindra fisheke dhe nje sasi granatash
dore". Policia shtoi se ka duruar per ekspertim keto arme per te
verifikuar nese jane perdorur ne ngjarje terroriste apo kriminale, te
