O Lord, You are immeasurable;
You have taken Your seat in the mental Vraja.
O Noble Child of Mathura,
Your body is anointed with sandal paste
and decorated with Kaostubha gems / jewels.
It emanates the beauty of a red kinshuka flower.
In the tamala, kadamba and bamboo groves of Gokula,
You appear before me.
In my wakeful and sleeping states,
with a charming smile,
as if standing under the trees,
You appear before me.
You are in my thought;
You always shower Your grace upon all.
You are the effulgent light in the core of every heart.
Come, O Dear Lord, into the depths of my heart.
Be with me like the inherent quality of whiteness in snow
or the burning faculty in fire.
Your effulgence engulfs every particle of the creation.
Your overflowing love fills every microcosm.
You are above and beyond the universe;
You are the Supreme Lord of the intellect
of every unit being.

-
O Shiva, Shaunkara, Supreme Benevolent Lord,
you are the seed of the universe,
and the source of all compassion.
You are like a silver mountain,
You hold a crescent moon on Your head.
You are like a bright jewel,
You are the basis of all well-being.
You hold in hand an axe for taming wild animals
and bestow blessings through the Vara’bhaya Mudra.
I always bow down unto You, grant me Your grace.
Be pleased and grant me realization,
O Shiva, dressed in tiger skin,
holder of the Vajra and the long horn.
All the wealth of Your qualities,
based on the principle of social equality,
is not mentioned in the scriptures.
O Lord, You are above the universe,
You are the cause of creation and the remover of fear.
Give me the dust particles of Your holy feet.

O Shaunkara, Hara, Mahadeva, Shiva, Sambhu -
I salute You.
You are without any beginning or end.
I do not know all Your attributes.
Time does not overpower You;
beautiful forms do not reflect You fully.
Therefore I remember You as one
beyond the scope of time and form.
You are like honey in a thorny bush,
in difficulty You provide help.
You radiate soft rays of compassion.
You are the self-created Lord for all time.

Victory to the benevolent wielder of the thunderbolt.
The One with white complexioned body,
clad in tiger skin –
'Give me shelter at Your feet.'
Victory to the blower of the long horn,
the remover of all of afflictions.
Oh Supreme Entity, in whom all intellect is sheltered,
'Give me shelter at Your feet.'
Victory to the first Father, the first Lord,
the Lord of Mantra, the God of Gods.
Beyond thought, ever new -
'Give me shelter at Your feet.'
One who looks like a silver mountain,
full of sweetness, difficult to attain,
Ever-blissful, infinitely radiant
'Give me shelter at Your feet.'
Victory to the Supreme, Eternal Truth

Shiva, Svayambhu (the Self Created Lord),
Pashupati, the first Lord, the Lord of the beginningless,
Dhurjati (one whose matted lock of hair
is always turned upwards),
the witnessing entity of all microcosmic intellect,
the repository of the universal wisdom -
let the victory be Yours.
You come from the world of invisibility
and reside in the three worlds.
You are the one who provides all
with the nectar like flow of bliss.
You are adideva sanatana (imperishable),
sha’shvata (eternal) andpuratana (the most ancient).
I salute You, the embodiment of auspiciousness.
You are endowed with all rare qualities.
You are Guna’tiita, all the attributes
(sattva, raja and tama) are sheltered in You.
You have no attachment for any wealth.
You are the dearest Lord of all created objects and entities.
You are both within and without the scope of time.
You smile in all sweet objects.
You feed the entire creation.
You are the one who maintains all the lokas of created worlds.
-
-
You are as severe as a thunder bolt,
yet as tender as a flower bud.
O Lord Shiva, holder of the pinaka (bow), I salute You.
You are like a silver mountain,
having a (crescent) moon on Your head.
I know that You have all the attributes.
You are controller of both the expressed
and the unexpressed worlds
and the shelter of all distressed people.
You are beginning-less and beyond the scope of time,
yet You remain ever-present in all finite objects.
I salute You, O ever tranquil One,
(Controlling) Lord of all animalistic tendencies.
You are the owner of all gems and jewels,
and yet, You have relinquished everything.
You are as effulgent as a bright emerald.
You are the very seed and primordial force of this universe.
O Shiva, Supreme Lord of all beings, I salute You.

The colourful fairy flew saying:
"Why don't you come with me?"
Where is my country, where is my home?
Don't ask me this!
I started flying since I opened my eyes.
In the path of light and in the unending call of the Infinite -
I moved forward.
My flight has no end.
I understand the pain of all and the lamentation of the mind.
I want to take all with me.
This is the only desire of the eternal time.

In the dreamland of the Blue Sea,
the golden lotus has bloomed again.
The waters of the Blue Sea vibrate with joy.
Under the spell of heart-felt joy,
it smiles its sweetest smile.
In the moonlight full of the fragrance of the lotus,
the breeze floats along to an unknown destination
to search out and convey the news to hearts lost in that aroma.
The fairy, in her mysterious, sportive way,
aproaches in spiralling movements
to pluck the lotus.
The young prince sits on the magic horse.
The fairy finally descends on the lotus.
and clutching the flower,
she flys away.
The prince chases the fairy.
The fairy, almost overpowered,
now trembles in fear
and frantically flaps her wings
to apologise repeatedly for her mistake.
The prince states firmly
that such an act is unacceptable.
The prince points out
that God cannot be worshiped with a stolen flower.
Do honest deeds,
follow the honest path, he commends.

Due to honesty, simplicity and spiritedness,
ordinary human beings become extra ordinary.
The youngest prince was graced with these qualities.
He too set out to catch the fairy.
He went to the Blue Sea
and set up ever-vigilant sentries around the lotus grove.
He spent a sleepless night,
watching over the blooming flower.
At the end of the night, the fairy came,
nervously plucked the lotus and flew away.
To catch the fairy, that magic horse was needed.
The young prince moved heaven and earth
in search of that magic horse.
Finally he came to the land of the demon
and discovered the horse.
He captured that capricious creature
with the love of all the needy folk whose hearts he had won.
Due to the righteous auspicious wish of his own
and righteous intelligence,
the dishonest demon finally admitted
that human beings are not inferior to demons in valour.

Sleep, drowsiness, anger, lethargy,
procrastination and fear are the six enemies
of human kind, powerful vices.
Even great personalities may be degraded by these,
what to speak of common people.
The princes after being outwitted by the fairy
set out to an unknown destination.
They began to search for a magic horse
without which it was impossible to catch the fairy.
Inflated with royal vanity,
they didn't heed the needs of suffering human beings.
They couldn't win the love of their hearts.
They lost their common sense due to the spell of vanity.
They lost their intellect,
and were finally tricked into defeat in their quest,
and they became captives of the demon.
They languished away in a dark prison cell.
