Application Form
Before completing the application form, please read UCL's Graduate
School Prospectus or Guide to Graduate Study and any relevant
departmental/institute booklet - alternatively, see the website.
Complete every section of the form. If you wish to apply for more
than one programme, please send a photocopy of your application
together with copies of all supporting documentation (except that
which is in sealed envelopes). Applicants applying from inside the UK
are asked to send a stamp to contribute towards the cost of
acknowledging the application while applicants from outside the UK
are asked to include an International Reply Coupon.
References
You must submit with your application form, in signed and sealed
envelopes, two UCL reference forms about your suitability to pursue
your proposed programme of study from two referees, at least one of
whom should, if possible, be a teacher acquainted with your academic
ability.
The reference forms are available as part of the single pdf document
(also including the application form and disability & ethnic origin
monitoring form - 9 pages).
If you have previously studied at a UK university, one of your
referees should be a teacher concerned with your studies there.
Referees should not be family members or friends.
Transcripts
An original copy of an official transcript, in English, containing
details of all the subjects or courses studied, the marks that you
obtained, the qualification that you were awarded (if already
complete) and the date of your studies, should be enclosed in a
sealed envelope and returned with your application. In the case of
those educated in the UK, where their university is unable to provide
a transcript, a list of the subjects or courses studied and the marks
obtained may be provided on the application form.
Laws applicants please note: official transcripts for all relevant
qualifications, including those awarded in the UK, are required.
Eligibility
For CES Master's and Doctoral Scholarships (Marie Curie Fellowships),
researchers must be nationals of a state other than the UK. At the
start of their scholarship, award-holders may not have resided or
carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country
of their host organisation for more than 12 months in three years
prior to the start date. Short stays such as holidays are not taken
into account. In the case of a national holding more than one
nationality, he/she will be eligible, if he/she has not resided in
the UK during the previous five years (other than for short stays
such as holidays).
CES Doctoral Assistantships are open to all applicants, irrespective
of nationality (i.e. including UK applicants).
