The United States of America will support Albania
Germans were all set to invite Albania join EU but at the last moment they got cold feet.
Religion is not the problem of admitting Albania into European Union. The majority of Albanians were once Catholic once Greek orthodox. Then Albanians became formally Muslims.
Albanians can become Buddhists if China continues to grow so fast and become a superpower.
Religion has never played any role in Albanian life. Just for the record Christianity was introduced by an Albanian (or Illyrian if you like) who made a pledge to his army. If he won the battle with the Germans he would accept Christ as his savior. It was a strike of luck that he won so next day he was reborn as a Christian. If it weren't for this ignorant warrior with no credentials in theology and religious matters Christianity would have remained a marginalized sect as many others at the periphery of the empire.
The separation of the empire and Illyria into two parts East and West Albanians also owe to this moron and other Illyrian emperors who instead of protecting Illyria from Slavs and Huns fortified a new capital in Constantinople.
Hence it was Albanians who divided the empire like a cake because they were quarrelling among themselves who would inherit the throne. They divided once the empire into four parts. The blood of this suicidal leaders still flows in the veins of Fatos Nano and Sali Berisha.

Let there be no doubt the only obstacle against the entrance of Albania in the European union are: 1. the poverty of Albanians and their inability to fulfill the criteria of economic requirements for joining the club of the rich, 2. the territorial claims that neighbors have against poor Albania. Neither Italy nor Greece would like a strong Albania not mentioning the Serbs, Montenegrins Macedonians, countries which have illegally annexed more than half of Albanian territories. Europe doesn't want to be involved in territorial conflicts so even if Albania meets all the requirements to join EU it will take a long time until Albania is accepted if ever in EU. A new war with Serbia and Macedonia is looming around. Unfortunately Albanians are not prepared for the conflict. The only country which pretends to be our friend is our everlasting enemy Turkey. We protected Europe from Turkey and Turkey now is our hypocrite friend. During the European song contest in Eurovision Turkey gave us no votes. In politics Turkey has not given us any votes either. Being associated to Turkey is our greatest tragedy. So who is Albania's friend? It might seem ridiculous but United States are the only supporter of Albania. It was America which saved Albania from being chopped off by voracious neighbors. Austria needs Albania for a safe passage into Adriatic Sea to boast its trade. Greece has always been dreaming about southern Albania. Serbia wants Albania dead and Macedonia is struggling to ethnically cleanse Albanians.
For Italy European Union is a bad copy of its old Roman Empire.
American Albanians have been pushed away by the jealous and pro Serbian communist regime.Sali Berisha who is a former communist did everything to keep Albanians of Diaspora away. Let us remember that the Jewish state in Palestine not only was built with the money of American Jews but every year the Jewish state officially receives 4,5 billion dollars by the American government and a lot of military aid. Albania could be rebuilt in the same way as the Semitic state. Albania has a strong American partner what matters is only trade and a strong military. If Albanians wait for Europe to admit them in their miserable sate they have to wait until some meteorite hits our continent and destroys Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia (also Hungary, Poland, Czech, Slovakia and all Slavs who loathe Albania) - a kind of dinosaur extinction style. Otherwise it ain't gonna happen.
Why should America help Albania? Apart from being (together with Greek) the oldest culture in Europe, Albania (Illyria) blended with another old culture Semitic.

Actually Cadmos ruled in Illyria and his son Illyrus became the ruler of all Albanians. Cadmus introduced Phoenician alphabet in Illyria, then Greeks copied it from them. Hence the foundation of European civilization was in Illyria. Only the creation of alphabet, recorded art and religion allowed Indo Europeans to evolve and become the dominant trace of the earth. If it weren't the alphabet Indo Europeans would have remained in their mud huts and hunt wild animals like Indians in America, indigenous people in Australia and the old ancestors in Africa.
Clearly the Jews in America will like the idea that their ancestors planted the seeds of civilization in Illyria. This is our only hope for a revival of Albania.
A second reason why America might love Albania is that Europe is getting married with Slavs. In the new Europe Slavs would make almost half of population of Europe. Even if Albania joined Europe it would be soon flooded with Slavs or become marginalized completely.
The war in Iraqwas the war for oil not for weapons of mass distraction. If America is getting lion's share of oil in Middle East, Europe is looking towards Russia as the last resort of energy. But Russia is the old friend of Serbs. Therefore Albania is again a loser in geo-politics.
America doesn't like this kissing and hugging of French and Russians. Speaking of jealousy Othello killed his own angel Desdemona. So Americans aren't going to spare anyone who gets on their way as a hyper power.
Serbia is the strongest friend of China - the new kid in the block. China has become the greatest immediate danger to American interests in the world. China sends new satellites in space, builds thermonuclear weapons, supports North Korea. It is a country with 1,2 billion people. China's economy is booming at 8% a year leaving other trailing behind. So America has good reasons to be fearful of China. Consequently the Chinese -Serbian friendship is another thorn in the eye of political elite in Washington.
For all those reasons poor Albania is the ideal partner for Americans in Europe. Because America doesn't share any borders with Albania and our country has no vital energy resources American interests will never cross Albanian goals.
