(I never knew that loving you could be so wrong!)

It’s over
The beauty that once was there
is gone

It was once staring at us, in our youthful eyes
shining out of hope and possibilities…
Now it’s occassionally a disposable force of habit.

I would lie if I were to play angel
and take the fault off of your shoulders
worried as always, that you’d feel uncomfortable..

Now I say YES
(with all that’s left from that sanguine drive in my heart)
It’s your fault
that neither of us is happy today.

Absent mindedly you imagined
that what we had (or what I had) was so strong,
as if cast in stone.

And you kicked it with your bad weather boots
just to test my reactions to it.

You’d laugh as I’d scream…
Immature you!

And now my love
My heart is cursed with monogamy, with you...
Your heart will never know love anymore

Now we’re both sentenced to a lifetime of loneliness,
So physically far from each other, forever...
Yet, in silent friendship, so close
