ROSSONERO PRIDE
Just in time for the run-in to the end of the season and SuperPippo is definitely back. After his injury problems and slow return to fitness in order to recover from an annoying back pain, the high tension at Sparta Praha and Lazio has sharpened his blade. Playing without his usual enthusiasm in order to find the rthythm and tempo, bidding his time, waiting for the right moment to hit the opposition and finally allow the adrenalin to explode in his trademark celebrations. Pippo has been primed all week, urged on by the words of encouragement from Carlo Ancelotti and his sharp performances in training at Milanello. His hard work was rewarded with a starting place against Sampdoria. He was all over the pitch from the first whistle, covering the ground in search of an opening. He drew his markers Conte and Falcone all across the backline and as hard as they tried they could not shackle the Italy international. Fortune may not have favoured him recently but his determination has never waned and so in the 35th minute he rose in the area and showed his true potential with a bullet header to beat goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli. Whether this goal has finally laid to rest the bad period remains to be seen but after Doni's equaliser to Andrea Pirlo's wonderful opener, Inzaghi set Milan on their way. He said: 'I want to be to Milan this year what Sheva was last season.' What we have seen so far has been promising, for the rest the best is yet to come ...
