MILAN ARE ITALY!
Only Milan and Real left: of the eight sides who made it to last year's Champions League quarter-finals, only the defending champions and the champions of Spain are back again. While last season, Italy had three sides in the last eight, only Milan will represent Serie A in this year's competition. It is more than just a mere statistic, it is something all Rossoneri fans are certainly proud of although there is no need for any flag-waving at this stage.
There is something else to celebrate. Italian football is well represented and in good hands. Amongst the final eight, one side stand above the rest and have done more to bring Italian football back to the highest level following the World Cup in South Korea and Japan.
We believe Milan have the organisation, single foresight, quality and plan. The consquence of this is that we can all look ahead with confidence. The permanence of the Rossoneri amongst the top eight in such a prestigious competition does not tag a label or give Italian football a monopoly but rather underlines what they have acheived. Milan have always approached the game in one way, projecting a positive image of our football and our championship. And for this and an infinity of reasons in these times, it would go well for everyone not to think badly of what lies ahead to get behind them.
