Ashtu si Kuriozi ne nje teme tjeter edhe une ne nje valixhe te vjeter tere pluhur ne shtepi gjeta si padashje nje Powerbook G4 Mac O/S. Do ta kete lene ndonje gjysh i imi kushedi ...

Tashti me kane dale nje dy probleme me te. Une s'eshte se s'ja them fare por psh. nuk e di po te futem ne internet me puqin me ane te adreses se Mac-ut apo jo.
A ka ndonje menyre per ta hequr adresen e Mac. dhe po ju kujtoj qe Etherneti eshte built-in.

Nese Internetin duhet ta qaj si mund te bej nje lidhje me PC. Windows XP. O/S duke pasur parasysh qe e kam Routerin, dhe a duhet qe kur te lidhem me te, te jeme e shkeputur nga Interneti.

he MAC Ethernet controller is a megafunction of a high-speed local-area network (LAN) controller. It implements CSMA/CD algorithms as defined by the IEEE 802.3 standard for MAC over the Ethernet.

This megafunction is based on the standard Intel/DEC 21143 chip and contains a register set and functionality similar to the original device. It also contains a generic host side interface for connecting with external CPUs or with standard bus controllers such as PCI. The host interface is compatible with most modern virtual component interfaces, and can be configured to work with either 8-, 16-, or 32-bit data bus lengths with big or little endian byte ordering.

Developed for reuse in FPGA and ASIC implementations, the MAC Ethernet controller has a strictly synchronous design with positive-edge clocking, no internal tri-states, and a synchronous reset.

Log:
Implement SIOCSIFLLADDR, which allows you to change the link-level
address on an interface. This basically allows you to do what my
little setmac module/utility does via ifconfig. This involves the
following changes:

socket.h: define SIOCSIFLLADDR
if.c: add support for SIOCSIFLLADDR, which resets the values in
the arpcom struct and sockaddr_dl for the specified interface.
Note that if the interface is already up, we need to down/up
it in order to program the underlying hardware's receive filter.
ifconfig.c: add lladdr command
ifconfig.8: document lladdr command

You can now force the MAC address on any ethernet interface to be
whatever you want. (The change is not sticky across reboots of course:
we don't actually reprogram the EEPROM or anything.) Actually, you
can reprogram the MAC address on other kinds of interfaces too; this
shouldn't be ethernet-specific (though at the moment it's limited to
6 bytes of address data).

Cfare jane (en0, en1, en2...)

Praktikisht po pres per Square Adapter qe e kam porositur ne eBay dhe nderkohe dua te blej edhe kete "NIC".
Mos eshte pak a shume si LinkSys Ethernet ky "NIC" ???

Dhe se fundi me cilat porta duhet te merrem... Pra ju lutem pak me specifike

NIC eshte network interface card ose quhet ndryshe edhe fast ethernet cart qe lidh me kabell PC-ne me macintoshin ku kalimi i te dhenave zakonisht eshte 10-100mb/sek
nga PC ne Mac dhe qe quhet half duplex si transferimosedhe 20-200mb/sek eshte full dupleks kur informacioni ben vajtje ardhje PC-Mac
dhe Mac-PC siparaqitje jane te ngjashme me videocarten ose karten e modemit te PC.Meqe per rastin tend do lidhesh vetem 2 kompjutera te duhet nje crosover kabell(po te kishe me shume kompjutera do te duhej te perdorje nje pajisje qe quhet Hub)
ketu ke nje adresse qe ka te beje me lidhjen dhe konfigurimin e PC dhe Mac-ut
