Authorities at Tirana airport have blocked the leader of an extremist organization operating in Serbia and Macedonia from entering Albania.
Police officials say authorities turned away Albanian Liberation Army head Gafurr Adili on his arrival at Rinas airport. They ordered Mr. Adili to return to Switzerland.
Albanian Interior Ministry spokesman Florian Seriani said the country cannot allow entry to a person known as what he called a troublemaker in the region. Mr. Seriani said anyone who works against regional peace and stability will always be considered persona non grata in Albania.
The Albanian Liberation Army has taken responsibility for a series of armed and violent incidents in Macedonia and southern Serbia in recent years.
