How did it happen that an Albanian who lives in Belgrade, Serbia has discovered aspects of American culture, especially in your use of inner city urban slang. You probably know more about hip hop than me. I do not expect to run into an apologist for Eminem here in the Albanian forum.

Speaking English like a BBC broadcaster doesn't "cut no ice with us". As far as speaking English goes we don't speak English, we speak American. As they do in the hills of Tennessee, the Italian sections of New York, the south Boston Irish and in the bayous of Cajun country in south Louisiana we alter the English language. We call it local color.

I don't think you understand what an achievement it is to soak in information from the Internet and other sources to assimilate so well you communicate in American slang like a native son.

Duke folur anglisht si një transmetues i BBC-së nuk "nuk kam sukses me ne". Sa i përket të folurit anglisht shkon ne nuk flasim anglisht, ne flasim amerikan. Siç bëjnë në kodrat e Tenesi, seksionet italian i Nju Jorkut, në jug Boston irlandeze dhe në bayous e vendit Cajun në Luiziana jug ne të ndryshojnë gjuhën angleze. Ne e quajmë atë ngjyrë vendase.

There is no American language, is a dialect or rather a collection of dialects...Same thing with the Italian language, same thing with the Albanian language, Same thing with the Spanish language and so on

Today, I was a TA for a history class and the class was taking a test. About halfway through, I noticed one kid had a small piece of paper in his hand. I ran up the row, grabbed his test, and ripped it into four pieces. Then I took the note from him. It said "I believe in you, -Mom." FML

Perhaps many of you have never heard of Saturday Night Live or JJohn Belushi. Saturday Night Live is a live audience comedy program that comes on every Saturday night at 10:30 PM Central Standard Time. It's been a comedy institution for over 30 years in the United States. A lot of Americans have grown up with Saturday Night Live which has always had a changing cast of characters. One of the comedy cast's name was John Belushi. He grew up in close knit Chicago family that emigrated from South Albania, (Orthodox Tosk family). He is considered by SNL (Saturday Night Live) present cast and alumni cast not to mention comedy critics as one of the top comedy talents in the history of the program.
