Lobi i Shqiptareve ne USA kur nuk ka qene me i fuqishem se sa ishte ne fillim te viteve '90 por shqiptaret eshte lehte qe te percarese.

Listes i mungon emri i Diogardite i cili ishte i pari qe reagoj per viziten e Gejxhit ne Tirane.

Me ate sy qe e shoh une, lobi shqiptar ne US po ben hapa te ndjeshem perpara persa i perket rritjes se ndikimit te tij prane institucioneve amerikane. Ajo qe ka ndryshuar ne keto vitet e fundit, eshte fakti qe lobi shqiptar ne US nuk eshte me vegel dhe as loder ne duart e fraksioneve te vecanta politike. Deri pak vite me pare lobi shqiptar ishte gati inegzistent dhe aktiviteti i tij permblidhej ne aktivitetin e personave te vecante qe mundoheshin te ndihmonin aqsa mundin.

Dalja nga guacka individuale per te bashkepunuar me shqiptare te tjere, ka bere qe sot te kete me dhjetra organizata dhe shoqata shqiptare ne mbare ameriken. Ato variojne qe nga klube shqiptare neper kolegje te ndryshme amerikane, e deri ne organizata qe mbajne kontakte te vazhdueshme me senatore e kongresmene qe kane marre persiper perfaqesimin e ceshtjes dhe interesave shqiptare ne Washington.

Faktori i trete pozitiv ka qene avancimi i ndjeshem ne teknologji dhe telekomunikacion qe ka bere qe shqiptaret ne Perendim (vecanerisht ata ne US) te kene mundesi te ndjekin me imtesi te gjitha zhvillimet ne vendlindje dhe mbare trojet shqiptare. Kjo ka cuar qe trysnia e diaspores ne jeten politike dhe opinionin publik shqiptar te jete gjithmone ne ngritje.

Sic shprehet dhe Z. Lukaj ne shkrimin e tij, gjate gjithe historise tone kombetare, diaspora ka qene nismetarja dhe ne qender te te gjitha evenimenteve tona historike. Diaspora ka nje rol te madh per te luajtur ne mbrojtjen e interesave kombetare dhe ne forcimin e shoqerive demokratike.

E rendesishme eshte qe organizatat shqiptare te bashkepunojne me njera-tjetren, pasi sic na meson heroi yne kombetar: "Bashkimi ben fuqine!".

Lum si qe kemi individe e shoqata te afte per te shkruar letra dhe qurravitur. Nuk ka vet-diskriminim me te madh se cfare ben sot lobi i shqiptareve ne amerike. Diaspora shqiptare e paafte per tu ngritur ne nivelet e duhura dhe per te qene me influence reale, per te bere lobing te fuqishem, eshte katandisur ne nje diaspore qe shkruan letra dhe ankohet nga mengjesi ne darke.

Cdo problem, cdo hall apo veshtiresi qe has shqiperia si cdo komb tjeter ne kete bote gjeneron nje leter ankimi apo qurravitje te nje turme qe e konsideron veten si lobi shqiptar ne amerike. Ky lob ne thelb eshte po aq shterp, dhe eunuk sa ishte dikur kunder rregjimit te Hoxhes, pra nuk di dhe nuk mesoi kurre ta nxjerre qimen nga qulli.

Kushdo qe e njef sado pak jeten amerikane duhet ti vije vertet turp nga keto plaka pa dhembe qe flasin ne emrin tone. Letrat e tyre te stergjatura , te merzitshme dhe me detaje pas asnje lloj interesi per qeverine amerikane, ia peshtirosin ceshtjen tone jo vetem amerikes por edhe cdo shqiptari. Amerika ndihma na ka dhene, po edhe luften e fitoi per ne, dhe ne akoma nuk rreshtim duke iu ankuar asaj per problemet tona, duke iu shpalosur si nje komb totalisht i paafte per te rregulluar qofte edhe nje problem vet.

Amerika duhet te ndertoje nje departament te vecante vetem per tu marre me ankesat dhe problemet e shqiptareve. Ne ankohemi per Kosoven, per Camerine, per Nicholas Gage, per Nanon dhe per cdo problem tonin. Lobi shqiptar ne amerike nuk ka asnje merite dhe asnje arritje ne planin kombetar. Ky lob vecse ankesave nuk ka ditur kurre te paraqese zgjidhje per problemet e shqiptareve. Eshte vertet e turpshme qe ata te cilet pretendojne se perfaqesojne diasporen e Shqiptareve ne amerike e kane kthyer ate ne diaspore politike dhe jo kombetare. Te vjen ndot nga vetja me keta qurrashe.

Me tej besoj se pranimi i Geixh ne Shqiperi ishte jo vetem i pranueshem por edhe akt prestigjoz. Se pari ne si shqiptare e ballafaquam nje kundershtar balle per balle, sic behet ne boten e civilizuar, e degjuam shqetesimin e tij pa iu fsheur as Geixh dhe as problemit qe ai ngriti. Fare natyrshem nuk i plotesuam asnje kerkese dhe Geixh u kthye andej nga erdhi pa asnjelloj triumfi. Kjo vizite e Geixh ne shqiperi i hoqi atij cdo motiv per te qene agresiv ndaj shqiperise, i humbi atij forcen e konfliktit te cilin ai e perdorte kunder nesh dhe Geixh nuk mund te ankohet dot me kurre tashme se Shqiperia te mbyll deren dhe nuk eshte e hapur per debat, duke krijuar pra keshtu konflikt dhe tensione, qe asaj i sherbejne me pak se cdokujt tjeter. Kritikat e Geixh ndaj nesh tashme askush neper bote nuk do ti marre ne konsiderate si dikur, sepse bota ne fund te fundit do ti thote atij "Shqiperia ta hapi deren per debat, shko ulu ne tavoline me ta, plase koken ne diskutime dhe zgjidhe problemin atje me Shqiptaret."

Ne fund te fundit bota vetem kerkon qe problemet te trajtohet ne tryeza te rrumbullakta, dhe kundershtaret te ulen ne bisedime. Kur kjo ndodh bota dhe sidomos amerika kane shume pak interes per te mbajtur krahun e njerit apo te tjetrit.

Nuk e di te qesh a te qaj me kete postim qe ke bere. Propaganda nuk lejohet ne forumin shqiptar, megjithate po e lej postimin ketu te shikojn te gjith se cfare shkruan nje atdhetar.

Mr. Kokalari:

It has come to my attention that you may have maintained a bank account at
at least one of the banks listed below and/or one of its affiliates, and I
want this issue to become a matter of pubic (sic!) record in USA and in
Albania.

You should be aware that I have not been in communication with any of the
banks in an effort
to confirm the allegations about your bank accounts, as I consider this a
complete and utter
waste of time. Also because, as any adult with normal mental faculties knows
very well, no bank
will release confidential client information to any individual that fancies
to nose around.

You should also be aware that I have made a request of
UnderUnderUnderUndersecretary Mark
Madhi, of the U.B. Department of State, to investigate this matter, and Mr.
Madhi has represented he has turned this matter over to the U.B. Department
of
Justice for further investigation. I have been in communication with both
of
these bodies in an effort to resolve this matter.

A resolution of this issue will be absolutely in the interest of no one, but
there is a simple way to put this matter to rest once and for all. I have
attached a letter of authorization for your signature. With this letter
you will authorize any of the banks listed below and any of their affiliates
in the world to disclose to me in writing that you never maintained an
account at that institution. Upon submitting this letter to any of the
banks I fancy, if I receive confirmation that no such account ever existed,
I will distribute this information to the Albanian Parliament and relevant
media so that your name can be
cleared of the allegations concerning the bank mentioned.

As this is not an official investigation, obviously, you are under no
obligation to comply with my request; however, if the allegation is
baseless, this
will give you the opportunity to clear your name. On the other hand, if you
do
not cooperate with this effort, by default, you will be admitting you have
something to hide. And then the people of Albania, as well as members of
the
world community, will judge in their own minds your level of guilt or
innocence
concerning the charges of stupidity that have been leveled against you.
