Në vitin 1997 Rea Garvey u nda nga grupi 'The Reckless Pedestrians' dhe vendosi të shkonte në Gjermani për të filluar një jetë të re. Me një CD të regjistruar dhe vetëm 50 marka në xhep ai botoi një lajmërim në gazetën lokale "Stockacher Anzeiger" ku shkruhej se "një këngëtar irlandez po kërkon të krijojë një grup në kohë rekord për koncert". Gommeringer Mike lexoi lajmërimin dhe mendoi se mund të ishte ndonjë këngëtar irlandez që mund ta kishte dëgjuar edhe herë tjetër në ndonjë koncert. Pasi i telefonoi zbuloi se nuk ishte gabuar, ishte pikërisht e vërtetë, e kishte dëgjuar edhe herë të tjera.

Ky ishte vetëm fillimi sepse Mike e prezantoi me Sebastian Padotzke (Sebi), Sebi solli më pas Uwe Bossert, Uwe ftoi edhe Philipp Rauenbusch (Phil) ku edhe formuan grupin Reamonn. Në 1998 grupi u bë zyrtar dhe ishin të gatshëm të debutonin me svoltosi për Krishtlindjet e vitit 1998/1999 ne Stockach.

Për të siguruar një kontratë me një shtëpi diskografike,morrën pjesë në një garë që u zhvillua në një pub të Hamburgut,përballë 16 talenteve skaut të vitit 1999 ku me muzikën e tyre befasuan të pranishmit.Si pasojë e suksesit te tyre, në fund të ditës u gjendën në pozicionin për të mund të zgjedhur se për kë shtëpi diskogtafike të punonin. Zgjedhja e tyre ishte "Virgin Records".

Prodhuan albumin e tyre të parë,"Tuesday" pas këngës "Supergirl" që ishte suksesi i tyre më i madh. Kënga ka fituar Diksun e Artë dhe u bë më e lançuar në radiot gjermane në vitin 2000. Reamonn-ët u shndërruan në yje.

Në vjeshtën e vitit 2000 vazhduan tour-in e tyre për të promovuar albumin e parë me mbështetjen e "Heyday", dhe me këngë si "Josephine" si dhe "Waiting there for you" ku asnjëra prej tyre nuk paraqiti sukses.


Në 2007 grupi ka mbështetur Nelly Furtado në Get Loose Tour, duke e shoqëruar atë në të gjitha koncertet europiane,gjithashtu edhe në Alcatraz të Milanos,në datë 28.02.2007. Gjithashtu kanë kënduar sëbashku me vetë Furtado-n këngën "All Good Things" (Come To An End), në versionin gjermanisht, paralelisht me versionin në italisht te realizuar me grupin Zero Assoluto.
