A Diplomatic Timetable for War
Here's the Bush plan for the next couple of weeks. First comes the new resolution authorizing an attack on Iraq to be introduced some time next week -- Fox News claims it may be as early as Monday.

Blix and ElBaradei will report back to the U.N. on Feb. 28. Their assessment is expected to be decisive in determining whether Bush and Blair can push the resolution through -- or at least garner a "moral" victory by forcing a veto. France has proposed a new council meeting on Mar. 14, but the U.S. is pushing for an earlier date. The decision to go to war, with or without U.N. backing, is likely before mid-March.

Turkey Confounds Bush's War Timetable
Until a few weeks ago, the Bush war machine was moving ahead inexorably, closely adhering to its timetable which seemed to have accounted for every known diplomatic delay. Not any more. The war plans are in the danger of unraveling thanks to Turkey, which is resisting opening its bases to the U.S..

Although Washington has already issued an ultimatum, threatening to withdraw the offered multi-billion dollar campaign, the Turks are continuing to dig in. They do not plan to hold the parliamentary vote required to allow the entry of U.S. troops at least for another week. Continue »

On Feb, 13, teams of artists and activists postered New York City with thousands of copies of photographs of Iraqi people. the aim was to show Americans the faces of the men, women, and children who will bear the brunt of a U.S. attack. On a Small Bridge in Iraq
Japan's highly reputed writer Natsuki Ikezawa has a written an evocative journal of his travels through Iraq titled, "On a Small Bridge in Iraq." The writer went on this journey with a mission: "If the war must come and bombs rain down on people, I wanted to know who they were." A must-read and a powerful affirmation of the humanity of the Iraqi people.

Clash Within Civilizations
Writing in the Asia Times, Mushahid Hussain points to the silver lining in the dark clouds of war: the "clash of civilizations" theory is a bust. He writes, "The clash within the West has defused tensions between the Muslim world and the West. If the strongest resistance to US policies on Iraq is coming from European Christians, surely those seeing the situation as a clash of Christian-Muslim civilizations are on a weak footing." It's hard to keep up the Us vs. Them rhetoric when your own allies are putting up the fiercest resistance.

Punishing German "Treachery"
The U.S. plans to withdraw all its troops and bases from the country and pull the plug on decades of military and industrial co-operation between the two countries. Millions March For Peace
According to early estimates, more than four million protesters across the globe joined together in an unprecedented show of unity to voice their opposition to the war. The one-million strong turnout in London is being billed by Reuters as the "biggest peace demonstration in British political history." Thousands more took to the streets in cities across time zones, including Calcutta, Rome, Istanbul, and Bangkok. The only reports of violence so far have been limited to Athens, where demonstrators smashed cars and windows.

Blix Report Confounds Push to War
While the United States and U.K. had hoped to use Blix's second report to push through a second resolution authorizing war, the outcome was just the opposite. Mbase nuk eshte shume per t'u habitur kur nje i krishtere, budist, judaist apo deshmues ka paragjykime, ben gabime (me ose padashje). Ketyre qe jane lindur,jane edukuar e rritur me keto fe nuk mund t'u zihet edhe aq per te madhe kur shkruajne ashtu sic shkruajne. Disi edhe mund t'i kuptoj nga aspekti se nuk kane mesuar gje tjeter por me te degjuara.

Ajo cka nuk mund ta kuptoj dhe t'ua fali kurre eshte se disa qe e kane pranuar (jane konvertuar) fene tjeter dje, sot shiten jo vetemse si me te krishtere se vet te krishteret, madje edhe duke ua kaluar te krishtereve me luften e tyre me te gjitha mjetet kunder fese se tyre fillestare.

Nuk me beson askush?

Nese nuk me besoni, lexojini postimet e te krishtereve dhe krahasojini ato me postimet e te konvertuarve te djeshem. Mjafton nga keta te konvertuar te deridjeshem t'i zgjidhni tre nga ta. Keta jane: shen albani, deshmuesi dhe i krishteri.
