Laporta threatens to ban national call ups.
Club president Joan Laporta has threatened to prevent Barcelona players from representing their national sides unless the club were given some form of compensation.
"It is a shame and a slight joke that we have to lend our players to the national teams to play in friendlies, pay their wages and we receive nothing in return," said Laporta.
"It is a subject that UEFA and FIFA have to talk about and if things do not change then we may look at not allowing our players to go."
These comments came after the French Football Federation asked Thierry Henry to remain with the French camp even thought he is suspended for the upcoming Euro 2008 qualifier in Paris against Scotland, thus ruling out the ex-Arsenal captain from Tuesday nights Copa Catalunya final against Gimnįstic de Tarragona.
