Amphitryon-Heinrich Von Kleist by Martin GreenBerg (1807)
Alcmene: Vile creature!Odious Man!
You dare to call me so?Before my Husband's
awe-commanding countenance, I am
not sheilded from yuor mania? You MOnstor!
Far from hideous to me than bloated
shapes that squat in fens! What harm did I
do you that you should creep up on me under
cover of a night engendered out of Hell
and dribble your dsgusting venom on my wings?
What more than that I caught your eye, corrupted
creature, like glowworm, in the silence?
Oh, finally it's clear to me the mad
delusion under which I labored . What I
needed was the brightness of the sun by which to see
the difference between the cringing figure
of a vulgar peasant adn the heroic architecture
of these royal limbs, between the ox and stag.
A curse on senses that surrendered to so gross
a hoax, a breast that rang sa falsely to the touch,
a soul so little worth as not to know
its own true love!Without a sentry to mount guard
on my heart and keep it blamless,
I'll hide myself. I swear,
where nothing lives, on a mountain peak not even
visited by owls.Your odious
deceit's succeeded, go!My peace of soul
is snapped and broken now.
Alkemna eshte gruaja e Amfitrionit, komandant i ushtrise se Tebes. (Fjalet e mesiperme)
P.S.
Meqenese me duhet ti shkruaj, do te sjell (do te mundohem) cdo dite nga nje monolog te ri. Nder te preferuarit eshte ai i Don Zhuanit.
