Sven's pay dwarfs semi-final coaches

Sven-Goran Eriksson's Euro 2004 may be out of Euro 2004 but there is still one table at the tournament he still tops.
The England boss is head and shoulders above all his rivals when it comes to earnings with the Swede taking home more than twice as much as the four semi-final coaches put together, according to a report in The Guardian.

Eriksson collects a pay packet of around £4million from the Football Association, dwarfing the £70,000 earned by Czech Republic coach Karel Bruckner, whose side are now the tournament favourites.

Luiz Felipe Scolari, who has won a World Cup with Brazil, takes home £1.1million for coaching Portugal whilst Otto Rehhagel, in charge of Greece, picks up £490,000 including bonuses.

Eriksson and Scolari are the only two of the tournament's five top-earning coaches to have retained their positions.

Germany's Rudi Voller (£1.9million), Italy's Giovanni Trapattoni (£1.1million) and Spain's Inaki Saez (£650,000) have all either left their posts or are soon to be replaced.

Voller, whose salary was less than half of Eriksson's, was the next highest earner behind the former Lazio coach.

Jacques Santini, who collected £350,000 as France coach, will more than triple that at Tottenham.
