Dear Christian:
I read your response very carefuly. I did not want specific questions to be answered. I was just trying to point out some of the things that make me question the authenticity of holy books(Qu'ran and the Bible). I do repsect the fact that you are a religious person. This gives you an advantage over the rest of us who are still in search of our personalities.
I go to a catholic University. My mentor and advisor is a Franciscan Priest. Do not get me wrong, I have nothing against other religions. I respect all of them. By respecting all religions of the world, I learn from them. I try to read other religions inorder to "appropriate" their message and the writings on my own life. What do I mean with the word "appropriate" I am sure that you know, but let me explain it to you.
I read other faiths and than I incorporate their teachings in the way I think suits my personality better. This way, I think, I become more spiritual. Just because I do not believe in some of the things holy books say(both of them) this does not make me a lesser person than those who are religious. You do belive in the Christ and you find "salvation" in him. I think that's a wonderful thing. But how can I find salvation in him when he is portrayed both human and divine. Both human and the Son of God. This is confusing to me. How can he be both human and divine? I have asked this question many times, and I have received same answers. I know what you are going to say.
As to your question that most of the Albanians beleive in a Supreme Being, but that's all they do, I just wanna point out that 80 % of the Albanians do not belong to the Christian Faith. What you said generalizes them. The majority are Muslims who were deprived of practicing their religion by the Communist regime. this is the reason why they are indiferrent to their religion.
When you talked about the end of the world, I realized that you do not belong to the Catholic Faith. I see that you read the bible literally. I have nothing against that. But this is where we differ. You take the bible literally, and I take it spiritually.
As for the Israeli conflcit, that conflict is not of religious background. It is entirely political. I do not belive that the Conflict in Middle East, and the Anti-Semitic voices of Europe, have anything to do with the coming of the Anti-Christ. DO not mix politics with religion. This is when the confusion kicks in.
Just for the record, there are Muslims who take Kuran literally, and you have seen what they did on September 11, 2001.
I hope I have not offend you in any way
Sincerely,
Arian
