Dear Christian:
Since you are replying in English language, let me do the same too. I have read the bible many times. I did this regardles of the fact that I belong to the Muslim faith. I have also taken few theology classes while attending college. I did this for the simple fact because I was in search of answers.
I am also familiar with the Muslim holy book. One thing I realized while reading both holy books, and after I took the theology classes, was that the plot of the message was almost the same. I say, "Almost" and not totally. I do not know about you, Christian, but i studied the bible in a spiritual way, not historical. If you ask me if I beleive the 7 days of creation, I say, "I do not." That is impossible. Now, I know that there are people who have historically studied both the bible and Qu'ran. These people are categorized as fundamentalists.
To clear my point. I do beleive in Absolute Reality(GOD). Beleiving in such a thing makes me feel alive and vulnerable. Believing in an Absolute Reality makes me realize that there are forces out of my control that can affect me. Believing in Absolute Reality and studying other faiths makes me understand myself better. IT makes me understand my faith. Studying religion makes me Spiritual.
As human beings, we are emotionally vulnerable. We are in constant search of answers. If we take the bible, or Kuran literally, than are scope of understanding life is limited. There are a lot of different ways of understanding life and ourselves.
Why do We die? One of the questions asked frequently by a rational being. Now, I do not belive that we die because Adam, tricked by Eve(or serpent for that matter), ate from the Tree of Knowledge. If that is the case, why do all the species, creatd by God, die? The do not posses the knowledge we do.
I will stop for now.....But if you decide to reply to my argument..please don't quote from the bible.
Sincerely,
Arian...ish-Lojtar I KB Prishtina......Student I Shkencave Politike
