Every Russian child has read about adventures of a little naughty boy in a wide-brimmed funny hat Neznaika (Know-Nothing) written by the Soviet children’s author Nikolai Nosov.

Neznaika and his friends, Little Ones, live in an imaginary place called Flower Town.

It is so called because there are a lot of flowers growing there, and the Little Ones love them very much.

Artist Boris Kalaushin who’s often exhibited in Moscow and St. Petersburg drew the illustrations for the trilogy of the books.

Nikolai Nosov was born in Kiev and spent his childhood in the little town nearby that inspired him to create Flower Town.

The whole world has learned the name of the Flower Town in 2022. It is Irpen.

And this is what adults who grew up on Nikolai Nosov’s books have done to Flower Town.
