Hiya, une jam nje student ne angli dhe po studioj biologji, kimi, fizike dhe psikologji ne kolegj dhe deshiroj te sudioj per stomatologji vitin tjeter ne universitet. Akoma nuk kam plotesuar formularet per universitet por do kisha shume deshire te studioja ne USA. Ne muajin Qershor ketu plotesohen formularet universitare por nuk jam i vendosur se ku te studioj. Une nuk studjoj per Dentiste, por aq sa di po ju tregoj.

Procedura ketu qe te behesh dentist:

1. Te kesh nje diplome Universitare kater vjecare nga nje universitet i amerikes (zakonisht quhet Bachelor Degree).
2. Duhet te kesh bere disa klasa kimije, bioligjije, fizike.
3. Ndoshta duhet te japesh provim Toelf (nqs nuk ke marre klasa ne anglisht)
4. Duhet te marresh nje provim qe eshte ADT - Dental Admission Test, ky kerkohet nga te gjitha shkollat.
5. Duhet te kesh mesatare te larte ketu eshte zakonisht GPA 3.0 e siper(por shumica 3.5 e lart), kjo e marre nga nje shkalle e 4.0 (qe eshte maksimalja) megjithate nuk perjashtohen raste te vecanta.

Admission

Requirements for Admission
All students applying to the New York University College of Dentistry must meet the minimum requirements as follows:

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, including all prerequisite courses. Consideration will also be given to students with at least a G.P.A. of 3.5 who have completed 90 credits (including all prerequisite courses) at an accredited college or university.


The following minimum prerequisite course requirements must be met:


English—6 semester hours’ credit*
(two years recommended)
Biology—(may include a half-year of genetics and a half-year of botany) 6 to 8 semester hours’ credit
Physics—6 to 8 semester hours’ credit
Inorganic Chemistry—6 to 8 semester hours’ credit
Organic Chemistry—6 to 8 semester hours’ credit

While a broad undergraduate education with a major in a chosen field is the background of choice, certain courses beyond the minimum requirements are strongly recommended and considered by the Admissions Committee. Suggested areas include business/finance, computer sciences and technology, upper-level science courses, sociology, psychology, and English.

Courses fulfilling the above requirements are offered by New York University’s College of Arts and Science at our Washington Square campus location. Applicants with foreign credentials and/or nonimmigrant visas should consult page 17. Applicants are required to take the Dental Admissions Test as part of the application process, and all prerequisites must be completed prior to enrollment in September. Students with any incomplete and pending science requirements will be at a disadvantage when their applications are reviewed.


The applicant is asked to submit letters of recommendation either from a committee on professional recommendations or from at least two teachers, preferably from science department chairpersons, who know the applicant personally.

* A semester hour is calculated as one hour of classroom or two hours of laboratory work each week for 16 weeks.
Advanced Placement in the Predoctoral D.D.S. Program
The New York University College of Dentistry offers the opportunity for advanced placement in the D.D.S. Program for the internationally trained dentist who seeks to practice the profession of dentistry in the United States.

Admission in advanced standing is competitive and is open to graduates of international dental schools who have satisfactorily completed an academic program of study of not less than four years, culminating in a degree, diploma, or certificate in dentistry recognized by the appropriate civil authorities of the country in which the dental school is located, and is also acceptable for entry into practice in the country in which the school is located.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must file an application for admission with advanced standing no later than March 5 of the year they wish to begin their academic program. An official copy of the dental school diploma and marksheets (with certified English translations) and one letter of recommendation from the dean or a member of the faculty of the student’s prior dental college must be submitted. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) must be taken by all applicants whose native language is not English. An official score report must be sent directly to the New York University College of Dentistry from the Educational Testing Service. Student copies will not be accepted. The suggested score for admission is 550 (230 for the computerized test). Students must also pass Part I of the National Board Dental Examination and send an official score report. Individual applications will be processed when all credentials are received by the committee. Applicants from overseas (F-1, J-1 visas) must submit their credentials on or before April 1 to begin their studies in the fall (September).

The D.D.S. Program is a full-time program and is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association. Culminating in the receipt of a D.D.S. degree, the graduate dentist has met the educational requirement for licensure. Additional board examinations are also required depending upon where the graduate dentist plans to practice the profession of dentistry. Upon completion of the D.D.S. Program, the dentist may sit for board examinations or enter residency or postdoctoral programs in a particular dental specialty.
