Tehran-Tirana relations reviewed
Tehran, May 14, IRNA -- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for
Euro-American Affairs Ali Ahani and his Albanian counterpart Heydar Agha here on Tuesday held talks on ways to develop bilateral, regional and international cooperation between the two countries.
The Albanian deputy foreign minister said that Tehran and Tirana have excellent relations and voiced Albanian interest in cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields especially in economic sector.
He called for Iran's participation in building infrastructure of
Albania. Heydar Agha said that the peace process in the Balkans is gaining momentum thanks to cooperation of regional countries. He expressed concern about the situation in the Middle East and called for respecting the rights of the Palestinians to restore peace and security in the region.
Ahani welcomed the expansion of Tehran-Tirana relations and hoped that Agha's visit to Tehran would serve to open a new chapter in bilateral relations.
He said that he was pleased with the return of peace to the
Balkans as well as restoration of the rights of the minorities.
Ahani said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is concerned about the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan. He deplored Israel's continued crackdown on the Palestinians and its refusal to allow the United Nations Fact Finding Mission to Jenin
Refugee Camp as violation of international law.
