What do you think about the publications of the forieng writers about albania?
I am about to finish reading the book called "the accursed mauntains" by the british writer Robert Carver and i can not believe my eyes what i am reading! it is the number one book against albania and the people. He entirely has forgotten that 5 years before his visit, Albania was an isolated country by the cold and stone-hearted communism and its partners. If he felt so "sorry" about the land and economy (but unsurprisingly remained economical about mentioning the albanian welcoming) then where were his fellow british diplomats long before the communism fell? They were so clever and willing to separate Albania and hand most of it over to the serbs (for their own beneficial reasons), why werent they so clever to abolish the communism and take the people out of this missory?
However, i must admit that there is some truth in his book (not all of it though). During those times (1995-6) Albania was so poor. After all I would not be so surprized that where he went he saw uneducated people who could not write or read! This is what you get from comunism and dictatorship. (By the way he forgott to mention the reason why he met such people, as afterall this was his aim yet he was was so keen on criticising them)
I would be very happy if he read this but I am begining to have doubts as I am writing it. Oh i forgot he is not interested anymore.....he achieved his goal of "pissing the land of bear and wolf"..... not that it had any negative side effects anyway: people still come and go from Albania... but look on the bright side of it ... another junk and waste of paper!
